The Ask
We were asked to create a fashion and trend forecast for a specific trend and target market through strong collaboration, effective communication, and balanced participation. Grounded in credible research and key forecasting theories, our predictions were thoroughly justified and aligned with the current zeitgeist.
About Our Project
My team and I chose to highlight the importance the idea of individuality and authenticity will have on fashion in the Spring and Summer of 2027. With our project, “The Symphony of Singularities,” we explore how, in chaotic times, people turn inward to find clarity, using self-expression as both escape and rebellion. As the world grows more unpredictable, staying true to oneself becomes not only a form of healing but an act of defiance. This project celebrates authenticity as a revolutionary force—one that breaks through disorder and proves that in fragmentation, every voice matters.

The Process
Our process began with identifying a compelling zeitgeist and an emerging trend that we anticipated would strongly influence the direction of fashion in Spring/Summer 2027, grounding our work in both cultural relevance and future-forward thinking.
2. After establishing this foundation, we collaborated closely as a team to conduct extensive research across cultural, social, technological, and aesthetic sources, ensuring that our trend concept was supported by meaningful evidence and diverse perspectives.
3. Using the insights gathered, we developed a comprehensive trend forecast that included detailed mood boards designed to visually express the emotional tone of the season, capturing the atmosphere, values, and creative energy we expect to define Spring/Summer 2027.
The Process
4. We developed an extensive word bank, carefully selecting terms that most vividly embodied our theme of individuality, capturing the nuances of self-expression, uniqueness, and personal identity.
5. Building on this, we curated a thoughtfully crafted color palette by sourcing images online that visually represented our theme and evoked the mood and emotions we anticipate defining the Spring/Summer 2027 season.
6. We developed two distinct color stories from our curated palette to reflect the contrasting moods of our theme of individuality. The first captured the vibrant spirit of authenticity, celebrating self-expression and freedom, while the second, more achromatic palette explored the darker, introspective side of rejecting conformity.
The Process
7. We developed detailed textile projections to highlight anticipated fabric innovations, exploring new textures, materials, and finishes that we expect will define the tactile and visual experience of Spring/Summer 2027.
8. We conducted an in-depth analysis of runway and street style trends, examining patterns, styling, and real-world wearability to ensure our forecast was both visually cohesive and conceptually aligned with the overarching theme we had established.
9. Finally we identified key items that embodied the season’s most significant silhouettes and design directions, focusing on pieces that would serve as signature expressions of the emerging trends.
10. We successfully presented our forecast to the class and received critiques from peers acting as “future snoops,” gaining valuable feedback that helped us refine our ideas and better understand how our predictions could be interpreted and applied in real-world fashion contexts.
The Outcome
The project resulted in a comprehensive and visually cohesive fashion forecast for Spring/Summer 2027, successfully reflecting the identified zeitgeist and emerging trends. Through effective collaboration, thorough research, and creative execution, the team produced a well-structured presentation featuring mood boards, color stories, textile projections, and key trend analyses. The final slide presentation showcased a clear narrative and strong theoretical foundation, earning positive feedback and validation from Future Snoops critics for its accuracy, creativity, and professionalism.
